Data protection

In principle, we only use personal individual data insofar as required for our services, subject matters and to provide an operative website. Generally, the data of our users will only be processed with their consent. The only exception will be made, if there is no possibility to ask for consent due to actual reasons and the data processing is authorized by legal provision.

The use of our website is usually possible without any personal individual data. To the extent possible data is collected (e.g. name, address, email address) only on optional basis. Without your explicit permission, the data will not be submitted to third parties.

Please note that the transfer of the data in the internet (e.g. when communicating via email) may involve security gaps. It is not possible to protect such data completely against access of third parties.

SSL encryption

This website uses SSL encryption for security and to protect the transmission of sensitive content, such as requests you are submitting to us as the website provider. You can recognize an encrypted connection by changing the address line of the browser from “http://” to “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser line. SSL encryption, when activated, guarantees that the information you are transmitting to us cannot be read by third parties.

Right of access, erasure or blocking

You have, at any time, the right to gain knowledge about your data stored on our server, the origin and destination, the recipient and the purpose it is stored for. Furthermore, you have the right to have this data corrected, blocked or erased. Therefore, as well as for any other questions regarding your personal data you can contact us at the address provided in the imprint at any time.

Data collection practices on our website

Cookies

Some websites use so called cookies to improve their services. Cookies do not damage your computer and contain neither viruses nor other damaging tools. Cookies serve the purpose of making our service user friendly, more effective and safer. Cookies are small text files, placed on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies that we use are so called “session cookies” which are deleted automatically at the end of your visit. Other cookies will be stored on your terminal device, until deleted by you. These cookies will allow us to recognize your browser at your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general as well as enable the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. However, the deactivation of cookies may restrict the functionality of our website.

Access protocols and server log files

Whenever our website is accessed our system will log information about your computer system. The following data will be captured:

  • browser type und browser version
  • utilized operating system
  • websites, from which you are visiting us (referrer URL)
  • date and time of the access
  • internet service provider of the user (public IP address of the accessing computer)

The data will also be collected in log files of our system and cannot be assigned to a particular person. A merge of this data with other data sources will not be done. In case of actual indications for illegal use, we reserve the right to check data subsequent.

The storage in log files will ensure the functioning of the website. Additionally, the data allows the optimization and security of our IT systems. An evaluation of the collected data for marketing purposes will not be done in this context. In fact, the data will be deleted after seven days.

Registration and user account

On our website, we offer users the opportunity to register by providing personal information. A requirement for setting up a user account is to conclude a license agreement with the site operator. The user account will be set up by the site operator and the user will be informed about this via email. The data will provided in an input mask and will thereby be submitted and stored by us. The data will not be submitted to third parties.

The following data will be collected within the registration process:

  • email address,
  • first name and surname oft the user,
  • company name on whose behalf the user will be registered for the site.

The user will be asked to create an individual password, which is only known to him, during the first-time login.

At the following events user data will be submitted:

  • login to the website,
  • as well as logoff,
  • start of a calculation.

The following data will be saved at the events mentioned above:

  • username,
  • IP address of the user,
  • public IP address of the accessing computer,
  • date and time of the access.

The legal basis for the processing of the data is in the form of a user agreement, if the user has given its consent. The data will be deleted once it has served its evaluation purpose, but at the latest within seven days.

Projects and calculations

While working with wake2e users have the opportunity to submit project related data, in form of input files, to the website. Additional data files will be generated during the calculation process containing the calculation results. Those files will be put into folders only the user will have access to.

if the files are no longer serving their purpose, they will be deleted. All project related data files will be deleted in case of one of the following events:

  • reset of the project by the user,
  • logout of the user,
  • automatically at the end of the day.

Reviews

Users have the opportunity to invite other users to review meetings, while working with wake2e. Therefore, a copy of the project data file will be moved to a separate location in the server’s file system. When the inviting or the invited user will open the review, the previously copied files will be copied into a folder, only the user has access to. All files will be deleted once they have served their purpose but at the latest after seven days.

Contact form

When reaching us via contact form, your stated information, including the contact details, will be collected in order for us to process the inquiry and for further questions. These data will not be submitted to third parties without your consent.

The provided data of the contact form will only be processed with your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can at any time revoke your consent. Therefore an informal note via email will suffice. The legality of the data processes made until your revocation remains unaffected.

We retain the provided data of the contact form, until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to collect or the purpose is no longer pursued. (e.g. after we responded to your request). Mandatory statutory regulations –- particularly retention periods – remain unaffected.
